Life Is All Numbers
Markers, felt pen, and colored pencil

life is all numbers
at one,
no one remembers

at two,
a new friend

at three,
a walk to the park

at four,
saturday morning cartoons transcend.

at five,
my schooling begins

at six,
seven,
eight,
and nine,
life is a blur – not a good sign.

at ten,
a bad haircut

at eleven,
i’m to blame

at twelve,
things are dull

at thirteen,
top of my game.

at fourteen,
things are new

at fifteen,
friends are found and lost

at sixteen,
the prospect of
driving

at seventeen,
plan out the future,
at all costs.

life is all numbers.
